Recently it is shown that positive tests in older children with idiopathic incontinence suggest a delayed maturation of the central neuronal control of the bladder 1 ; . Materials and Methods: The outcome to achieve continence in relation to positive and negative BCT was retrospectivelly evaluated in 53 children, 6 to 7 years old, all without overt neurology. The test was performed at the end of an ordinary cystometry by a rapid control infusion of body-warm saline followed, after fluid evacuation, by the same volume of cold saline 3 - 10 C ; The test was considered positive if a detrusor contraction above 30 cm H2O was evoked by the cold but not the warm fluid. Results: Clinically both groups of children gradually became continent with a mean of 3 years. There was no significant difference between children with positive or negative BCT.
